Open Arms Free Clinic, Inc. (OAFC) is an independent, community-based, not-for-profit 501c3 charitable organization created in December 2011. The mission is to better understand and serve the health and wellness needs of the uninsured, low income and under-served residents of Walworth County with compassion and understanding. OAFC provides free, non-emergent health care, with respect and dignity for individuals who do not have health insurance, who live or work in Walworth County with a household income at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. The mission is delivered by a volunteer staff of medical and non-medical community-minded people governed by a volunteer board of directors. The clinic is currently open three days a week – Wednesdays for new patient enrollment, Thursdays for medication pick-up, and various days for weekly scheduled medical appointments.
Our dedicated volunteers serve the community in all its ethnic, religious, and economic diversity. Our goal is for our patients and their families to have the same non-emergent primary care and attention with respect and dignity we would want for our families and us. The clinic volunteers enrolled the first patients on November 7, 2012 and held the first clinic service on December 6, 2012.
